MAINTENANCE PELLETS

HGS Maintenance pellets are designed to aid in maintaining animal condition.  A pellet suitable to feed when pasture total availability is less than adequate to meet the animals requirements; or, to supplement additional energy when stock have access to a suitable volume of feed, however lower quality and fibrous feed that limits intake and performance.

HGS Maintenance pellets are high in digestible carbohydrates, supply moderate and safe energy sources, and contain a buffer to aid in minimising issues associated with grain feeding. The pellets are a flexible diet solution, suitable for drought feeding situations and formulated to suit both sheep and cattle.
MAINTENANCE PLUS PELLETS

HGS Maintenance +  offer the key attributes from HGS Maintenance pellet, with the extra benefit of additional protein for efficient digestion when feeding poor quality roughage, or when animals are grazing on poor quality pastures. This ensures the animal optimises the digestive potential of feed on offer, when limited protein is being supplied by roughage.

WHAT MAKES OUR PELLETS DIFFERENT?
Our business is quite unique in being part of the human food chain. This gives us access to some valuable and scare raw materials that bring value to our formulated diets.

Harwood pellets are formulated from a unique blend of ingredients for maximum palatability, optimum digestibility, and performance. The unique combination of cooked and uncooked cereal grains, sugars and fats,  give the pellets a balanced source of energy.  Similarly, protein is supplied from a range of ingredients, providing degradable and bypass protein, to meet requirement. This combined with a quality vitamin and mineral premixes, allows us to tailor pellets to all varieties of livestock classes.

When feeding HGS Maintenance pellets, ensure that all livestock have access to sufficient, clean and cool water, as well as an adequate source of good quality, palatable fibre such as hay or straw. Make sure all livestock have had access to fibre before introducing pellets to the diet gradually; this will assist in the transition onto concentrate.

Introduce concentrate at .25kg per 50kg liveweight on day one and increase allocation incrementally by 100g every third day to a recommended, maximum of 1kg per 50kg liveweight per day for sheep.

Introduce concentrate over a 14-21 day period, to a recommended maximum of 1.5kg of concentrate per 100kg liveweight for cattle.

Pellets are formulated from a selection of the following ingredients:
Wheat, Barley, Maize, Oats, Oat Bran, Canola Meal, Lupins, Field Peas, Sweeteners, Limestone, Magnesium oxide, Salt, Ammonium Chloride/Sulphate, Rumen buffer, Comprehensive vitamin and mineral premix.

Please consult your regional nutritional advisor as to the recommended levels to feed your cattle and or sheep for your individual situation.
