Lamb Starter is an all-in-one pelleted feed optimised to get lambs off to a great start. It is a high protein feed suitable for young growing lambs from 4 weeks of age.

Lamb Starter contains a balanced profile of grains, roughage, protein, vitamins and minerals to supply essential nutrients to young lambs. This complete feed helps to support the growth of young lambs and aids in immune health.

Lamb Starter is a highly palatable ration that aids in transitioning lambs from milk to pellets and improves the conversion of feed into weight gain. It also contains natural plant antioxidants to support immune health and aid in combating gut pathogens (such as Salmonella and E. coli) and coccidiosis to improve health and performance.

Lamb Starter includes a rumen buffer to help prevent rumen acidosis (grain poisoning).

Feeding Directions

Harwood Grains' Lamb Starter is designed for lambs from 4 weeks of age.
Lambs younger than this should be fed a sheep specific milk replacement.
Transitioning from milk replacer to Lamb Starter and hay/pasture should be done gradually over a minimum of 2 weeks.


  • Introduce Lamb Grower at 0.25kg per 50kg liveweight on day one. Increase by 0.1kg every three days to a maximum of 1kg per 50kg liveweight for sheep.
  • Keep feed troughs clean to reduce risk of spoilage.
  • Offer free-choice access to fresh and clean water at all times.
  • Feeders should be set at throat height to reduce wastage.
  • Place feed and water sources away from each other to keep water clean.
