Calf Starter contains a balanced profile of grains, roughage, protein, vitamins and minerals to supply essential nutrients to growing calves. This complete feed helps to support the early development of young calves, aiding in immune health, growth and rumen development.
Calf Starter is a highly palatable ration that aids in transitioning calves from milk to pellets and enhances the conversion of feed to weight gain. It also contains natural plant antioxidants to support immune health and aid in combating gut pathogens (such as Salmonella and E. coli) and coccidiosis to improve health and performance.

Feeding Directions
- Harwood Grains' Calf Starter is designed for calves from birth to 3 months of age as creep feed or for early weaning.
- Calves younger than 3 months of age should be fed a calf specific milk replacement and wean off of milk replacement once consuming
0.8-1kg per head per day. - Transitioning from milk replacer to Calf Starter and hay/pasture should be done gradually over a minimum of 2 weeks.
- Introduce Calf Starter at 0.25kg per 50kg liveweight on day one. Increase by 0.1kg every three days to 1-2% of body weight.
- Offer free-choice access to fresh and clean water at all times.
- Feeders should be set at throat height to reduce wastage and regularly cleaned to reduce spoilage.
- Place feed and water sources away from each other to keep water clean.
