Dairy Starter is an all-in-one pelleted feed optimised to start heifer calves off strong. Dairy Starter is a high protein feed suitable for young growing calves from week one.


Dairy Starter supplies a balanced profile of grains, roughage, protein, vitamins and minerals to supply essential nutrients to growing calves. This complete feed helps to support the early development of young calves, aiding in immune health, growth and rumen development.


Dairy Starter is a highly palatable ration that promotes rumen development in young dairy calves, getting them on track to develop into healthy, productive dairy cows. It also contains natural plant antioxidants to support immune health and aid in combating gut pathogens (such as Salmonella and E. coli) and coccidiosis to improve health and performance.


Contains a rumen buffer to help prevent rumen acidosis (grain poisoning).

  • Feeding Instructions

    • Harwood Grains Calf Starter is designed for calves from birth to 3 months of age.
    • Calves younger than 3 months of age should be fed a calf specific milk replacement and wean off of milk replacement once consuming 1kg/head/day of Dairy Starter.
    • Offer free-choice access to fresh, clean water always.
    • Feeders should be set at throat height to reduce wastage and regularly cleaned to reduce spoilage.
    • Place feed and water sources away from each other to keep water clean.
