It is formulated to help reduce risk of pre-calving metabolic disorders and prevent weight loss pre-lactation. For cows and heifers in the transition period three weeks prior to calving.

Lead Up provides a highly digestible source of starch to promote rumen development. Adapting the rumen to high energy diets pre-calving can have beneficial effects on production after calving.

Feeding Directions

  • Lead Up is designed for cows and heifers 21 days prior to calving.
  • Lead Up is suitable for feeding in conjunction with unlimited forage or a minimum inclusion of 100g of fibre per head, per day. Do not use straw or poor-quality hay as these will not supply sufficient energy for maintenance.
  • Offer free-choice access to fresh and clean water at all times.
  • Introduce Lead Up at 0.25kg per 50kg liveweight on day one. Increase by 0.1kg every three days to aim for 1-2% of body weight depending on forage quality and availability.
  • Keep feed troughs clean to reduce risk of spoilage.
  • Feeders should be set at throat height to reduce wastage.
  • Place feed and water sources away from each other to keep water clean.

Formulated from a selection of the following ingredients: Wheat, Barley, Oats, Oat Hulls, Almond Hulls, Canola Meal, Canola Oil, Lupins, Pollard, Molasses, Lime, Anionic Salts (Magnesium Sulphate, Ammonium Chloride, Ammonium Sulphate, Calcium Sulphate), Rumen Buffer, Vitamin and Mineral Premix.
